No, not Holly Valance. The valance is the L-shaped bracket that secures the vertical blinds to the window. Before attaching the brackets, mark where they will go and keep an even distance between each bracket. Again, how you install the valance for the vertical blind projects depends on whether you use an inside or outside mount.
Inside mount for vertical blinds installation. Measure the width of the inside of the window frame. Next, measure the drop from the top of the inside recess to the bottom of the window sill. It is a good idea to measure the left, right and middle points and use the smallest measurement.
Outside mount for vertical blinds installation. Measure the width from the outside edge of the architrave to the edge on the opposite side. Next, measure the drop from the top of the architrave to where the blinds will stop. This should be a small distance off the ground. Add a little room to either side of the architrave for the track – say 5 to 10cm.
