Top down bottom up shades or duofold shades are very popular for privacy. These shades can be lowered from the top or raised from the bottom. This allows light into the room but still provides privacy especially for second story bathrooms. Top down bottom up shades come in honeycomb cellular shades, bamboo woven wood shades, and roman shades. If you use any of these options, you will want to inquire about the material and whether moisture exposure should be a concern.
The sleek lines and timeless looks of an aluminium venetian blind look fabulous at the window of a modern or contemporary styled bathroom. They can withstand a fair amount of water and are good in relatively humid and moist environments. With great light and privacy control they are a fabulous way of adding colour to a room.
In bathrooms, humidity and moisture can also be problematic. Wood blinds are not recommended because even though they have a protective finish they do not do well in wet areas. If a horizontal blind is desired, faux wood blinds or aluminum blind.
