Small slats are also ideal for window with narrow window frames and windowsills. If you want to mount the blinds inside the window frame, you will be able to do so with smaller slats, even if the window is small or medium sized. Choosing smaller slats can also help the blinds blend in more, and that’s perfect if you are looking for subtlety.
All blinds offer different slat sizes. Slats are the horizontal pieces that you tilt, raise, and lower when operating your blinds. The difference in slat sizes may not seem like a lot, but the right, or even the wrong, slat size can make a world of difference for your windows. Do not leave it up to chance. Instead, you simply have to learn which sizes will work best for each window of your home.
Medium slats is the most common sized window, and you can get away with any slat sizes. But the most common slat size is 2 inches, and that is the size you will find the majority of blinds and shades. Keep in mind that you may have a medium sized window but with a shallow or narrow windowsill. 2 inch blinds may not fit. But you always have the option to choose a smaller slat size or simply use an outside mount.
