No, not Holly Valance. The valance is the L-shaped bracket that secures the vertical blinds to the window. Before attaching the brackets, mark where they will go and keep an even distance between each bracket. Again, how you install the valance for the vertical blind projects depends on whether you use an inside or outside mount.
However, if you do decide to DIY, the vertical blinds manufacturer has likely created a step-by-step set of instructions for you to follow. It will take longer (and may include a few more swear words!) but you will no doubt be pleased with your achievements.
Lastly, you need to hang the vertical blind slats. This is a very easy step. Just hook the slats onto the carriers (hooks) from end to end. If this all sounds too tricky, ask your supplier for installation help.
