In times past, bathrooms were decorated and equipped with only functionality in mind. But times have changed. In modern homes, bathrooms are now used as the new accent room. Bathrooms have become a space to reflect a persons personality, interests, and individual style, no matter how small that bathroom is. One décor item that can make or break any bathroom is the window covering.
Although not water resistant, roman blinds do look fabulous at a bathroom window. They are only suitable if they are not going to get wet or be subjected to moisture directly. They generally work well in larger bathrooms that have plenty of ventilation and where the blind is not situated too close to the shower or bath.
Top down bottom up shades or duofold shades are very popular for privacy. These shades can be lowered from the top or raised from the bottom. This allows light into the room but still provides privacy especially for second story bathrooms. Top down bottom up shades come in honeycomb cellular shades, bamboo woven wood shades, and roman shades. If you use any of these options, you will want to inquire about the material and whether moisture exposure should be a concern.
